“Black Quilters: Hard Topics Soft Blows” 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Meeting Room B: Guest speaker Dr. Tony Jean Dickerson will talk about how quilts, often seen as “women’s work” and “sheer arts and crafts” by some, actually have a prominent place in telling the struggles and triumphs of many cultures.
“Heirloom History and Importance” 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Indiana Room: Participants can bring a family heirloom to share, discussing the object’s history and importance. This event will include an introduction to FCPL’s digital genealogy resources.
